2. What Data We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- •Name and email address — collected when you create an account.
- •Assignment data — titles, subjects, due dates, and notes you add to Planly.
- •Usage data — anonymised analytics (pages visited, features used) to help us improve the product. Never linked to your identity.
3. How We Use Your Data
- •Display your assignments in your personal dashboard.
- •Power the AI Study Assistant — your assignment details are sent to the AI model only to generate your response and are not stored beyond the session.
- •Manage your account and authenticate you securely.
- •Send transactional emails (password resets, billing confirmations). No marketing emails without your explicit consent.
4. We Never Sell Your Data
We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties — ever. We may share data with trusted infrastructure providers (database hosting, AI API) solely to operate the platform. Those providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.
5. COPPA — Children Under 13
Planly complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). For users under 13:
- •We require verifiable parental or guardian consent before account creation.
- •We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the service.
- •We do not display behavioural advertising to users under 13.
- •Parents or guardians may review, update, or request deletion of their child's data at any time by contacting support@getplanlyai.com.
If we discover we have collected data from a child under 13 without proper consent, we will delete it immediately.
6. Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time:
- •Email support@getplanlyai.com with the subject "Delete My Account".
- •We will process your request within 30 days and confirm via email.
- •Backups containing your data will be purged within 90 days.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security practices including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to user data is restricted to authorised personnel only.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
